GP Ballando Ltd was founded by Giovanni Pernice to create a welcoming dance community across the UK and Ireland. We believe dance is for everyone, and want you all to feel like you can do it! Our focus is as much about having fun as learning the steps; building confidence and inspiring you to challenge yourself to do more than you thought you could.

I have always enjoyed teaching. Passing on what I know and what i’ve learnt to others is a great feeling.

When I started the Lockdown Classes in 2021, I was lucky enough to build a community with that. Then afterwards obviously I wanted to dance with them in person – and it’s just grown from there. What started out just in London, is now across the UK and Ireland, and we probably won’t stop there.

I always say that Ballando isn’t here to create world champions – but to spend time together dancing, moving and having fun. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never danced before, or if you think you’ve got 2 left feet – perfect – brilliant!

Seeing people come back to another class feeling more confident than before is what it’s about. It’s the best feeling, and I genuinely enjoy every class I teach.

I love it!

I first ‘met’ Gio online, when he was doing his Lockdown Dance classes in 2021. I’d never danced before, but those classes got me hooked! They were unique – not only for the teaching, but for the community that was built around it as well. When lockdown lifted, he did a few studio classes which I went along to, and I also met him a few times during his This Is Me tour – and the rest as they say is history!

I started helping organise a few classes for him, and during those it was clear how well we work together. That, combined with my background in project management and event marketing, meant that we were soon planning multiple classes and in 2024, GP Ballando Ltd was created. I love doing what I do – getting everything organised and set up, so he’s free to do what he does best – dance, teach and entertain!

You know that saying ‘love what you do, and you’ll never work a day in your life’?

For me, that’s Ballando.
